This was my fifth Challenge.  I've enjoyed them all but this was the best by far.  As I nurse a substantial hangover on the train home I reflect.  The weather was spectacular which certainly contributed but once again it was the people who really made it special.

Thanks to my vetter, Alan Hardy, for once again suberb advice. The vetters are a vital part of this event and their knowledge is priceless. Also thanks to those maning control.  Their cheeful encouragement regularly spured me eastward.

Thank-you to all those who enriched my Challenge along the way.  Ann and Alvar Thorn and Alan Jordan come instantly to mind but their were many others.

David Albon and Steve Smith also played a part. Although neither were able to be on this years Challenge many supportive (and sometimes envious!) texts were recieved and prove you can still be part of the Challenge even if you are not in the Highlands.

A very, very big thank-you to Sue Oxley.  It was a privaledge to share her tenth crossing.  We are both naturally solo walkers but we walked most of this Challenge together.  She was superb company.  She made me laugh, was supportive when necessary, and we never once had a crossed word.  Most importantly she got me to Clova in time for afternoon tea!

The biggest thank-you of all is reserved for that special man, the Challenge's "uncle", Roger Smith, who started and finished my Challenge.  Without his quiet dedication and hours of commitment I am sure this wonderful event would not run so smoothly year after year.

Thank's again Roger and I hope to see you next year.
